Smoke ‘n’ Stoke

Neptune’s Citadel is a Saucify video slot set beneath the sea in a mythical kingdom ruled by Neptune-inspired imagery. An ornate underwater citadel fills the background, surrounded by coral, sea life and shafts of blue light. The illustrated style carries through to the symbols, where crowns, tridents, seahorses and coloured gems reinforce the theme.
The game uses a 6×6 layout with cluster wins instead of a conventional five-reel setup. Winning clusters can lead into cascading results, while multiplier symbols build the value shown on the multiplier meter. Free Falls add another layer by allowing that multiplier to continue accumulating throughout the feature.
This review looks at Neptune’s Citadel’s gameplay, visual presentation, Free Falls feature, cascading multipliers, RTP and volatility. You can also try the game through the playable demo below. This game is available on all casinos within our casino affiliate program.

Theme & Visuals
Neptune’s Citadel takes place in a submerged fantasy kingdom built around classical mythology. A large citadel appears in the background with domed buildings, towers and elaborate arches. Its glowing entrances stand out against the darker water, while turquoise light filters down from above. Coral, underwater plants and other marine details fill the edges of the scene.
The 6×6 grid sits inside an ornate frame decorated with twisting coral-like vines. Two classical female statues stand on either side of the reels. Both wear crowns and carry tridents, while their columns are surrounded by shells, starfish and sea plants. These elements give the game a strong mythological identity without making the central grid difficult to read.
The symbols combine themed objects with coloured gemstones. Crown, Trident and Seahorse symbols sit alongside red, orange, yellow, purple, green and blue gems. Saucify uses different gem shapes as well as colours, which helps separate them visually.
A dedicated MULTIPLIER meter sits to the right of the grid. Its decorative seaweed frame matches the main game border, while its size makes the multiplier easy to follow during cascading sequences.
Game Features
Neptune’s Citadel uses a cluster-win system rather than conventional paylines. Winning groups form when identical symbols connect horizontally or vertically. Diagonal connections do not count towards a cluster. The supplied rules do not state the minimum number of matching symbols needed, so that figure should not be assumed.
Cascading Wins: Cascades form a central part of the gameplay. Winning symbols are removed, allowing the grid to produce further results within the same sequence. This mechanic works directly with the multiplier meter, since additional wins can increase the value applied during the cascade.
Multiplier Symbols: Multiplier symbols can appear on any reel during both the base game and Free Falls. When a multiplier lands alongside a win, its displayed value is added to the cascade multiplier meter. All wins are then multiplied by the current value shown on that meter.
In the base game, the multiplier resets once the cascade ends. Free Falls works differently. The accumulated multiplier remains in place and can continue growing until the feature finishes. That makes the Free Falls sequence the main opportunity to build the mechanic across multiple results.
Free Falls: Four Free Falls symbols activate the feature. These symbols can only land on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Free Falls cannot be triggered again while the feature is active, and the bet remains the same as the one that triggered it. Saucify advertises up to 11 Free Falls.
The detailed rules show multiplier symbols with values from 2× through to 500×. However, another supplied source describes the cumulative multiplier as reaching 100×. I would therefore avoid presenting either figure as the confirmed maximum cumulative multiplier until Saucify clarifies the difference.

Our Verdict
Neptune’s Citadel works best when its cascading cluster system and multiplier mechanic start feeding into each other. The multiplier can build during a cascade, while Free Falls lets that accumulated value carry across the feature. That gives the game a clear gameplay identity beyond its 6×6 layout.
The presentation is equally distinctive. The submerged citadel, classical statues and detailed marine borders give the game a hand-illustrated feel. Meanwhile, the coloured gemstone symbols remain easy to separate on the grid. The dedicated multiplier display also keeps the main mechanic visible during play.
Players who prefer conventional reels and paylines may need time to adjust to the cluster format. The experience also depends heavily on cascades and multiplier progression. However, fans of cluster games, feature-led slots and mythological underwater themes should find plenty here to explore.
